City Council to Meet on West Oak Area Historic District Proposal -- Tuesday, June 17, 2008 6:30 p.m. - City Council Chambers at 215 E. McKinney Street. The proposed West Oak Historic District is approximately 52.01 acres. It has the following boundaries: (1) West Oak Street from 1702 West Oak to 2280 on the north, and 1707 to 2245 on the south (from Jagoe/Avenue C to Thomas plus three lots) and (2) Marietta Street from 209 to 404 (from West Oak to Houston Place), and (3) Houston Place from 2015 to 2232 (from Bradley to Thomas); and (4) Alamo Place from 2224 to 2234). The Historic Landmark Commission recommended approval 8-0. Planning & Zoning voted in favor unanimously. Please try to attend the city council meeting. It is important to have as many of you at the meeting as possible.
